Valverde to miss Getafe clash due to coronavirus

Real Madrid’s midfielder is reportedly ordered to isolate himself after being in direct contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid-19.

The club has issued a

statement

which reads: “Real Madrid CF reports that our player, Fede Valverde, having been in direct contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid-19, has been in isolation since yesterday, Saturday, April 17.

The statement continues: “Although the player has given negative results in all tests that have been carried out, Fede Valverde will not be available today for the match against Getafe CF.”

This means that Zinedine Zidane will have to manage his side today with nine absentees.

The Uruguayan, who has just made his return from an injury recently, put a man-of-the-match performance in his side’s Champions League clash with Liverpool last week.

The 22-year-old has made 20 La Liga appearances this term, registering 3 goals and an assist.
