Xabi Alonso wants to continue his project with Real Sociedad
Former Spain international and current manager of the Real Sociedad reserve team has committed his future to the Spanish club.
Xabi Alonso, former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich midfielder who is currently coaching the
Real Sociedad’s reserve team in Spain was linked with a move to become the manager of
Borussia Monchengladbach. Marco Rose, the current manager of the German side is set to leave the club at the end of the season and take charge at Dortmund but the reports turned out to be false.
Xabi Alonso has commited to Sociedad as he extended his contract until 2022. He has brought the reserve side to the top of the Segunda Division B Group 2 table. He says that he is happy where he is currently.
“I’m very happy with how things are going,”
Alonso told the club’s
website.
“I have had great communication with the club and I want to keep growing and helping with this project.
“These have been two very enriching years for me for me and the club. We still have higher aspirations and a lot in front of us to fight for.
“We have huge ambitions.”
