Verona boss Ivan Juric vexed by their loss to Sassuolo

Ivan Juric was enraged with Hellas Verona after their 3-2 loss away to Sassuolo, 'Gifting points like that is annoying.'

Hellas twice ripped at their way back into the game, yet only minutes after the subsequent leveler, they conceded their third from a corner kick.

"It's not a good afternoon, but I am still proud of my team, because we dominated Sassuolo," Juric told Sky Sport Italia.

"We gifted some goals too, but overall did well to control the tempo and stop Sassuolo playing their usual possession football.

"We did better over the 90 minutes, but when you gift those goals, you will pay for those mistakes. Our general play has improved vastly from the first half of the season, but luck hasn't been on our side.

"On the winning goal, there were two big mistakes. Firstly, Mattia Zaccagni should've been more alert on that back-pass, then the corner wasn't cleared with enough conviction.

"It's a pity, because we absolutely dominated the final half-hour, never letting Sassuolo get beyond midfield. When we equalised at 2-2, I absolutely thought we would go on to win it. Gifting points like that is annoying.

"Unfortunately, that often happens with us and Sassuolo. They've got great players and Roberto De Zerbi is a fine coach. I really like Roberto, he has his ideas, we are from the same generation and have an open mind about tactics."

Juric was quizzed about the on-going reports that he is one of the top choices to supplant

Gennaro Gattuso

at Napoli next season.

"I am concentrated on my team. We should've had three points, because we were playing good football. When you do everything right and don't win, you don't make the step up."
