Milan's Kjaer: 'It was a mistake to disallow Kessié's goal'

Simon Kjaer trusts Milan were in control of the game against Manchester United and is certain Franck Kessié's goal was wrongly refused: 'It was a mistake.'

The seasoned Danish scored a late leveler in Milan's 1-1 stalemate at Old Trafford against the Red Devils in the first leg of the

Europa League

round of 16.

"This is an important result, we played a great game. We showed personality and I think we dominated," the defender told Sky Sport Italia.

"We are aware of their quality, and we found the spaces to play our footballer with patience. We showed personality, now there is another challenging game, but today we were strong."

Franck Kessié scored a stunner on minute 11, but the goal was ruled out via VAR for a handball.

"I spoke to him and I think it was a mistake to disallow the goal. It's a pity that could have changed the game," the 31-year-old Kjaer stated.
