Racism must be clearly and strongly condemned-Crotone President

Crotone midfielder Adam Ounas was racistly insulted after a 4-2 win over Torino last weekend. Ounas, who joined Crotone on loan from Napoli in January, scored his second goal of the season in Sunday's game.

Crotone President Gianni Vrenna believes 'racism must be strongly condemned’.

"

Adam

has only been here with us for a few weeks, but we welcomed him with open arms, fascinated by his talent,

" the President said, according to SportItalia.

"We have always done it with anyone, and those who came to Crotone have always carried important memories with them.

"They arrived almost as children and left as men. Our club is a family and we have always condemned actions that we still struggle to understand.

"Adam is a professional, but he's a boy like many others. He could be a young player in the amateur championships, a child of our football schools or not necessarily a footballer.

"Racism must – always and in any case – be clearly and strongly condemned. And it's not enough to talk about the gestures of a 'few people', everyone must have an unequivocal position, especially those who like us who are taken as an example by millions of children who dream of seeing the ball roll.

"Ounas is a footballer, but he is above all a boy. What makes him 'different' from others is only his talent."
