Italiano witnessed "very harsh" Spezia result

Spezia coach, Vincenzo Italiano depart from the Allianz Juventus Stadium with "regrets" after Spezia was defeated 3-0. "The result is far, far too harsh for the game we saw."

Spezia Calcio

displayed a solid performance but couldn't take control of the game and finally lost 3-0 in Turin.

Just like their last match earlier this season, this one was changed with the substitutions, Federico Bernardeschi and Alvaro Morata.

“The regret is that we came here, played so well for an hour and then lost 3-0. That result is far, far too harsh for the game that we saw today,”

Italiano

.

“We often got into the final third, had two or three situations where we really could’ve hurt Juve, then once we conceded two goals in 10 minutes, the fatigue set in and being 2-0 down becomes difficult psychologically.

“As a coach, I must be happy with what I’ve seen today and confident going into the future, because if we play with this character in the remaining 13 games, then we can have a strong season.

“The game was going really well, so I personally believe that if we defend deeper, we’re more likely to lose 6-0 than 3-0. There are regrets, because we conceded the opening goal at the near post and it’s not the first time that’s happened. There was only one place Bernardeschi could put that and we didn’t cover it.”

Italiano

was in the same class with Andrea Pirlo in the summer and they were both trying to earn their top-level coaching badges.

“He is a friend and a wonderful guy. I hope he can win many more trophies, seeing as he’s already got one.”
