"I know what I saw..." - Steve Corica criticizes late VAR non-decision

Sydney FC coach, Steve Corica has criticized a VAR non-decision in his team's defeat against Melbourne City, claiming they were not given a late penalty as they tried so hard for a comeback.

The Sky Blues

could manage the final 20 minutes of the match on Tuesday at AAMI Park with two goals from Patrick Wood and Milos Ninkovic.

Corica

accepted that his team were outplayed for most of the final rematch but he was filthy with the video assistant referee.

"In the end, we probably could've got a point because I'm not sure what VAR saw,"

Corica informed.

"I know what I saw in the dying minutes - it was handball and we probably could have stolen a point.

"I'm just not sure about the decision they made at the end."

City superstar, Jamie Maclaren, who netted two goals against Sydney FC, criticized the VAR in an interview with

ABC radio

last weekend, saying it was "killing our game".

Corica couldn't accept the non-call on Tuesday and said his team got what they deserve for producing a lackluster first-half.

"It was pretty much all our boys who looked sluggish in the first half,"

Corica

added.

"We want to play games and we have to deal with this, there's going to be more times that we have to turn around after two days."
