Arteta confirms signing of Bundesliga Teenager
The Gunners have been scouting Hertha Berlin’s highly-rated defender for some time now, and although they failed to seal a deal in the summer, they are now on the verge of getting a deal done.
Hertha Berlin’s
19-year-old defender,
Omar Rekik
, has reportedly acquired permission to undergo a medical with
Arsenal
as the clubs have agreed on a fee that is expected to be around £500,000.
Mikel Arteta
confirmed the news in his press conference:
“We will announce it when we possibly can, he is a young talent that we have been following for a while that has a really bright future, but we will give more details when we can.”
The Dutch defender is expected to join the Gunners u-23 team in order to help him to adapt, as well as training with the first-team squad.
