Nahitan Nandez is linked with a January move to Leeds United
Leeds are still looking for a central midfielder after a deadline move for Michael Cuisance broke down.
The Whites were linked with a series of midfielders in the summer, failing to land moves for Bayern Munich’s
Cuisance
and Udinese's
Rodrigo De Paul
, they will be still in the January's market to provide their lacked energy in midfield.
Marcelo Bielsa’s
side were linked with a move for Cagliari’s star,
Nahitan Nandez
, who has a release clause of £32.5m in his contract. Intra Sports has reported that the Uruguayan midfielder could be sold for a lot less than that, for a figure of just £18m.
Nandez can act as a box-to-box alternative to
Mateusz Klich
and provide more cover for
Kalvin Phillips
, as Leeds has faced major struggles in midfield since Phillips's absence following an injury he picked in November.
Nandez's agent,
Pablo Bentancur
, revealed Nandez had a desire to play under
Bielsa
before joining
Cagliari
in April 2019.
He told El Crack Deportivo:
"I prefer to leave Cagliari as an alternative.
"I spoke with important clubs in Europe and Nandez told me that he would like to play with Bielsa."
