Parkinson is dismissed after winless run for Sunderland

Five winless runs have forced Sunderland to sack their manager Phil Parkinson.

The Coal Cats hold the eighth title on the EFL League One table, only seven points behind the titleholders, Hull City.

’s two-year contract did not reach its end, as he was dismissed after 13 months.

Preparations for Tuesday’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Burton will resume on Monday, with first-team coach Andrew Taylor taking charge of the squad

The board will now begin the search for a new manager and will make no further comment until this process is completed

Former Sunderland director, Parkinson, underwent short management and he is not believed to be the only one. Steve Bruce was the last one to be the director for more than two years. The owner of the club has made the decision of selling the Black Cats but there haven’t been any comments on any deals.
