Handanovich criticizes the performance of his teammates

With one avoidable penalty and a silly red card, Inter made it easy for Zidane's men to gain their second victory.

Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic believes he and his teammates failed to prove themselves on the pitch and made things easier for Real to win.

Real Madrid and Inter Milan met in the fourth week of the Champions League at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, where Real Madrid defeated their opponents by two goals to achieve their second victory in the competition. Eden Hazard scored Real's first goal from the penalty spot, and then Arturo Vidal was sent off after receiving two consecutive yellow cards, and Conte's men played with ten men. Rodrygo scored the second goal to give Inter their second successive defeat in the Champions League.

After the game, Handanovic claimed that he and his teammates made things easier for Real Madrid.

“It’s a complicated situation, hope springs eternal and we’ll see what happens,”

Handanovic told Sky Sport Italia.

“We knew this was a very tough group, but we had to prove ourselves on the pitch and ultimately what happens there is the decider.

“I think Real Madrid are less accustomed to defending than they are passing the ball, so when they take an early lead, they move the ball around rapidly and you are left chasing shadows.

“This sort of game is their bread and butter.”
