Roma’s Appeal against Verona Declined

After not going by the rules Roma were ruled a defeat against Verona.

The Italian club

Roma

who ended their match in a 0-0 draw with

Verona

were handed a 3-0 defeat after including

Amadou Diawara

on their squad. The second team of the table made an error by keeping the player on the Under-22 list instead of moving the 23-year-old to the senior players list. According to Serie A rules this is considered an error and though Roma were told about the mistake beforehand they didn’t go by the rules. Therefore the court ruled their appeal to be “unfounded” declaring Verona as the winners.

Roma are the second team on the table with 14 points followed by Verona with 12 points.
