I didn’t get to speak with Zidane- Reguilon explains his move to Spurs

The midfielder’s contract will be finished by the end of the season and he is a favorite of Ronald Koeman to join Barcelona.

Sergio Reguilon

was a child player at

Real Madrid

since he was eight and finally made it to the first team in 2018. He spent the last season on loan at

Sevilla

but like his team-mate

James Rodriguez

he decided to continue his career in the Premier League. The 23-year-old won the Europa League trophy with Sevilla before joining

Tottenham

in the summer transfer window. In a recent interview with Onda Cero’s El Transistor, the Spanish left-back has spoken about his departure from Real Madrid.

“I am not in Madrid due to something that doesn’t depend on me,

“My conscience is clear – you can’t be frustrated by decisions that you do not make. I didn’t get to speak with [Zinedine] Zidane.

“Real Madrid has given me everything and I will always have a very special affection for them. With Sevilla I won a great title, something I will take with me forever. They are a club that is in my heart.

Asked about rumors around his bad relationship with Luca Zidane, Reguilon responded:

“I get along very well with Luca, I never had a problem with him. On the contrary, we get along very well and continue to maintain contact – it’s absolutely false that I get on badly with him.”
