Ronaldo can silent his critics - Ten Hag

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag believes that Cristiano Ronaldo can return to his good days again.

After two defeats in the first two matches of the season, Manchester United won their next four games; including brilliant victories against Liverpool and Arsenal. But ten Hag did not use Ronaldo in the starting line-up in these matches.

Ronaldo was added to United's pre-season camp later than other players and has not yet been able to provide good performances this season, but the Dutch head coach of the Red Devils believes that he will soon show his quality to everyone.

He told Sky Sports: "If anyone can deal with that then it is Cristiano Ronaldo because his whole career they look at him, the whole world is looking at him and the whole world has high expectations of him. I'm sure he will come back because he has spent his whole career scoring, and he will do it this year as well, and then I think then everyone will be silent."

Asked if Ronaldo can deliver in their upcoming match against Man City, ten Hag said:

"Every confidence. Yes, every confidence because of his profile and his personality is and, yes, he can deliver."

Eight years ago Ten Hag worked with Guardiola in Bayern Munich and now he will face his coach for the first time. The Dutch added:

"I think for my development as a manager, it was really good to be there as the U23 coach. The team in a big club, in a club with a great mentality born out of a good philosophy and of course there was Pep Guardiola driving change in German football, totally.

"In that environment I learned a lot. I'm really grateful for the opportunity he gave me to have a look inside his work. He did great things in football, not only in collecting all the prizes but the way he did it. I really admire that."
