Salihamidzic to Bayern players: No more excuses, now we need wins

Bayern has won 10th consecutive Bundesliga titles but their sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic believes they can’t win matches in the league if their performances do not improve.

Salihamidzic after the game told Sky Sport:

"We didn't finish the situations, several situations that we had, didn't finish in a concentrated manner, didn't play through to the end with a certain greed of wanting to score goals; and we also allowed a few chances against us, didn't defend those situations to the end, and we can't win in the Bundesliga like that.

Salihamidzic also said the current side is showing they have

”brutal problems against teams that play against us physically, that knock our socks off, so to speak”.

Bayern has won against Inter and Barcelona in the Champions League but Nagelsmann knows he is under pressure to improve their domestic form in his second season in charge of Bayern.

If we don't bring that certain discipline, greed and physicality, then you can't win in the Bundesliga,"

Salihamidzic said.

"Now there are no more excuses. Now we need wins.”

Bayern is struggling to replace Robert Lewandowski’s goals as their record streak of 87 Bundesliga games with at least one goal came to end against Augsburg. Sadio Mane who joined Bayern after Lewandowski’s departure has failed to score in his last five matches.
