Official: Brentford signs Aaron Hickey for £14 million

The two teams have reportedly agreed on a fee of £14 million plus add-ons as Bologna's Scottish full-back officially joins Brentford.

Aaron Hickey

has signed a long-term contract with

Brentford

as the deal represents the first piece of transfer business for Thomas Frank this summer. The deal reportedly cost the Bees £14m as it will rise to £18m if performance-related add-ons are met during Hickey's time at Brentford.

The 20-year-old defender joined Bologna from Hearts in 2020 for around £1.5m and made 48 appearances for the team. He played his first international game during Scotland's match against Poland in March. He played 36 games in Serie A last season and scored 5 goals as his team finished 13th in the league.

Meanwhile, Brentford and Hull City are negotiating a deal for the forward Keane Lewis-Potter. According to

Sky Sports

, the Bees have reportedly made Hull a significant offer and the player wants to move to the Premier League club.

Meanwhile, the Bees boss Frank revealed this week that he is "optimistic" over

Christian Eriksen

's chances of committing to the club despite rumors that Dane will join Manchester United. Frank said:

"Right now he's not a Brentford player, but he's not a player for anyone else either.

"It may well be that right now it seems to be a different place than with us, but let's see now.

"I have to be optimistic, but I also read newspapers. Lets see what happens. I communicate with Christian, but we keep it to ourselves until he is either signed here or somewhere else."
