Gray scores late as Everton came from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1

Demarai Gray’s last-gasp strike earned Everton a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Arsenal on Monday night and eased the pressure on manager Rafael Benitez.

The Gunners took the lead through former

Real Madrid

midfielder

Martin Odegaard

’s volley before the break, moments after

Richarlison

had a goal disallowed for offside following a VAR check.

Richarlison had another goal disallowed for offside by VAR just before the hour mark before scoring the equalizer in the 79th minute with a header after

Gray

's attempt rebounded back off the bar.

Gray then earned

Everton

's first Premier League victory in nine games with a stunning 25-yard effort in the second minute of stoppage time.

The game finished with the audience in excitement, after some Everton fans had previously left their seats in protest at the club's management.

Everton go up to 12th place as a result of the win, reducing pressure on

Benitez

following an eight-game losing streak.
