Wilshere interested in a return to Arsenal

The English star is currently a free agent and has no contract with a team.

Former

Arsenal

star Jack Wilshere, who is currently training with the club as a free agent, has not ruled out returning to the club.

Wilshere moved from the Arsenal youth system to the first team and was able to introduce himself as one of the stars of the football world, but several injuries prevented him from growing. After leaving Emirates in 2018, he played for

West Ham

and

Bournemouth

, but was eventually left without a team and is currently a free agent. He recently trained with the club to stay fit and spoke in an interview about his interest in returning to Arsenal.

He said: "I went there, very kindly invited by them to come and train, get my fitness back, which I’ve done.

"I am [training with the first team]. They’ve got a lot of midfielders, they’ve got Ainsley Maitland-Niles…"

When asked if he has turned out for the Under-23s, Wilshere replied "no" and when asked whether he could in the future, he said, "maybe."

While Arteta will miss the midfield of Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey due to the African Cup of Nations, the presence of Wilshere can be a great help to his team.
