Xavi will not rush Pedri back

Xavi will not force Pedri back unless he fully recovers from injury.

Barcelona’s

golden boy

Pedri

has not played for the club since September, but Barcelona’s new manager Xavi insists that the young talent’s wellbeing is the most important thing for him and that he won’t cush him back unless he fully recovers from his thigh injury.

Pedri has been named the best under21 player in Europe with 199 points more than the second player

Jude Bellingham

which is a record in terms of the difference between the winner and the runner up for the title.

Xavi

has also talked about the player’s award, insisting that it is good for the 18-year-old to have something to celebrate before he returns to action.

"I'm happy for him because he deserves it [the Golden Boy award]. He has made a difference and is an extraordinary player,"

said Xavi

.

"It's an important, prestigious award. And I'm glad for him because he's having a difficult time.

"We are going to try to get him back as soon as possible because he is a key player, a difference-maker. I don't have a specific date, but the important thing is he does not relapse again, plays calmy and recovers 100 percent."

The young talent has signed a new contract at Camp Nou, committing him to the La Liga giants until 2026, which can be good news for the fans considering the club’s current situation and their hardships in reinforcement.
