Antoine Griezmann suspended for UCL clash with AC Milan

Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann will miss his side’s Champions League clash with AC Milan next Wednesday as a part of a two-game ban from UEFA.

Griezmann

was sent off in

Atletico Madrid

's 3-2 loss at home to

Liverpool

last month and was given a two-game ban, the first of which he served in the rematch, which Atleti lost 2-0.

According to a report from

Marca

,

Griezmann

will now miss the forthcoming match against

Milan

on November 24 after Roji Blancos have been informed by UEFA that the Frenchman will have to serve the second of his two-game suspension.

The Spanish giants feel a two-game suspension for Griezmann is unfair, and they want to appeal the decision as soon as possible.

It's a major setback for

Diego Simeone

. Griezmann is a vital part of his offense, and Atletico has no room for mistake when they host Milan in Madrid. They now sit third in Group B, one point behind

Porto

and eight behind Liverpool.
