Calhanoglu: I chose Inter because I wanted a new challenge

The Inter midfielder has opened up about his controversial transfer from Milan.

from Milan in the summer transfer window. The Turkish midfielder has continued his excellent form this season, quickly turning into a key player for the Nerazzurri.

Ahead of


’s crunch World Cup qualifier against Montenegro, the 27-year-old has opened up on his move to Inter.

“I spent positive seasons at Milan,”

Calhanoglu told

“I decided to go to Inter because I wanted a new challenge in my career. They are a great club, they won the league last season and play in the Champions League.

“I am aware that I made a particular choice. But this is life. You must look forward and not look back. I knew that Inter has always been a great team, they often beat Milan in derbies.”

Calhanoglu has featured in ten league games for Inter this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists. The Nerazzurri will return to Serie A action with a crucial match against
