“Sancho is a world-class talent” Klopp hails the former Dortmund star

The Liverpool boss believes the English winger must be given enough time to display his qualities at Old-Trafford.

Jadon Sancho ended his long-running transfer saga by joining Manchester United on a £73m deal this summer. The former Dortmund star has featured in 11 of his side’s 12 games across all competitions this season, but he is yet to score or assist for the Red Devils.

Ahead of Liverpool’s vital league game against Manchester United on Sunday, the Reds' manager backed Sancho to activate his full potential at Old-Trafford.

"Jadon Sancho is a world-class talent, definitely,"

Jurgen Klopp said.

"He has all the things you need to become really one of the best players in the world in the future, that's how it is. But he's still very young.

"At Dortmund they were full of praise about him and rightly so. I saw a lot of games of him playing outstandingly well.

"Some people lose patience a little bit quickly – and don't forget the options United have in this position."

Sancho is pushing to secure his place in the Red Devils’ starting XI, facing competition from Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford who have proved to be more clinical than the 21-year-old.

"Wow! What a talent he is,"

the German manager said when asked about Greenwood.

"

I think he has maybe pushed Jadon out of position.

"Mason can play in the centre, but there is no space anymore, so maybe they will share. It's a problem that you want to have as a manager, 100 per cent."

After the North-West derby, the Red Devils will face Tottenham in their next Premier League game.
