Valencia

and

Sergio Aguero

hailed his performance.

Sergio Aguero praised

Ansu Fati

’s talent and display but he thinks the youngster has a lot to accomplish at

Barcelona

.

The Spanish had his first start after 11 months and scored in the Blaugrana’s 3-1 victory over Valencia on Sunday.

The Spain international missed a year due to a knee injury that had him make only three substitute appearances before the international break.

Following Lionel Messi’s departure, Barca are putting all their hope into Fati’s basket and the Argentina international, who has his debut for the La Liga side against Valencia, wants to help the youngster reach his full potential.

"

Ansu is still a very young player and he has a lot to prove,

" Aguero told Barca TV.

"I'm very happy that we have him here.

"We have to help him continue showing how talented he is, because not many other players have that."

The 18-year-old had found the back of the net 11 times from 38 shots he had made since 2020.

Although Fati impressed and stole the spotlight against Valencia, Barca’s victory is also an occasion to remember for the Argentine.

Having to deal with a calf injury since his move from Manchester City in the summer, Aguero is happy that he can play now.

"

I'm very happy to have made my debut,"

he said.

"I've been looking forward to this moment for a long time. The most important thing was to win the match.

"It was incredible that the supporters chanted my name, though now I have to get used to that song and show the same affection they show me."

Memphis Depay also netted for the Catalans after Fati equalized the game and Phillipe Coutinho sealed their victory with a third goal.

Barcelona are sitting seventh on the table after their victory.
