Aguero and Fati in Barcelona squad for Valencia clash

The Blaugrana have the services of Sergio Aguero available for the first time this season as they get ready to go against Valencia in La Liga.

Sergio Aguero

and

Ansu Fati

are part of the

Barcelona

squad for the key battle against Valencia on Sunday.

After joining the Catalans in May, former Manchester City player Aguero will make his first appearance for his side after recovering from a calf injury.

Due to his knee injury setback, Fati is easing his way back into the first team as he has only made three substitute appearances after returning to action.

Barcelona is handed a boost by the two players’ return as they sit ninth on the table after seven games.

Ronald Koeman

was quizzed about Aguero’s chances of featuring for Barca and he said:

"He's improved a lot lately.

"He played 20, 25 minutes in Wednesday's [practice] game and it is going well. But he lacks the rhythm of the games and a certain physique.

"He will get that with games. His quality is not questioned; he can give a lot to this team. Especially up front."

Fati found the target 14 times in 46 matches for the Blaugrana since having his debut in 2019, but this season, he has only played for 57 minutes.

The Barca manager is not willing to take any risks over the youngster’s fitness as the games against Dynamo Kiev and Real Madrid will follow in the upcoming weeks.

"

Every day he is doing better because he has been away for a long time,"

Koeman said at Saturday's pre-match news conference.

"You have to think with Ansu that there are three games this week and he cannot play the entire three games. We must decide what is best for him and the team."

Barca, however, are missing Ronald Araujo, Pedri, Martin Braithwaite and Ousmane Dembele through injury.
