Muller defends Bayern Munich's transfer policy

The German star believes that Bayern does not intend to weaken its rivals.

Bayern Munich

star Thomas Müller has defended his club's transfer policy, citing the issue of Kylian Mbappe staying at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Bundesliga champions were not very active in transfers, hiring only Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer. While Bayern have started the new season unbeaten, Leipzig have won just one of their first three games. Many believe that Bayern are trying to weaken the Leipzigby attracting players from the team, but Müller defended his team's transfer policies.

Asked if Bayern had the intention to hinder Leipzig's chances of challenging for the Bundesliga title, Muller said:

"No club has an obligation to sell. Look at PSG and Mbappe. Like every club, we're on the lookout for quality that fits into our budget.

"It's normal to look around for options in the same league. There have always been transfers that are hotly debated, and that's a good thing."
