Roma interested in Sardar Azmoun

Roma will have a gap in the squad when Borja Mayoral returns to Real Madrid and according to some reports they are lining up Zenit St. Petersburg forward Sardar Azmoun for next summer.

Roma

have been revamping their attacking options since Jose Mourinho was appointed as the new coach. They sold Edin Dzeko to Inter and signed Tammy Abraham from Chelsea and Eldor Shomurodov from Genoa.

Director of sport Tiago Pinto has already been working on the future players, according to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper.

The Giallorossi reportedly have a deal with Iran international center-forward

Sardar Azmoun

, whose contract with

Zenit St. Petersburg

is reaching its end.

Azmoun has scored 34 goals through 52 senior caps for Iran and this season he has only been able to score six times through seven competitive games.

He had already been on the verge of a move to Olympique Lyonnais, however, the transfer never materialized.

Roma are going to have a gap in the squad when Borja Mayoral returns to Real Madrid after two seasons on loan in June 2022.

Although they have an option to buy for €20 million, it seems they have no intention of using it.
