Arsenal set to sign Bologna’s Tomiyasu

As per reports from Sky Sport Italia, the Gunners are on the verge of closing the deal with Bologna over the Japan international on a fee of €20m plus €3m add-ons.

were also among the clubs interested in the Japanese defender, but the Gunners met his representative today and reached an agreement to sign him.

The 22-year-old made a move to

Bologna

in 2019 from VV Sint-Truiden on a contract worth €7m. He had his Japan debut in 2018, with 23 international caps, and featured in 64 matches for Bologna. The Japan international found the target three times with the Felsinei.

Tomiyasu wanted to join the Premier League and had a longer holiday when the Serie A started as he was part of the Olympic games with Japan U23 squad.

He made a nine-minute appearance for Bologna during their goalless draw against Atalanta on Saturday, which is now his last game for the Serie A side.
