Sevilla cancel pre-season match due to COVID-19 concerns
The Spanish side were set to play against Aston Villa in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Sevilla were planning to continue their pre-season campaign with a friendly game against
Aston Villaon August 8. However, the club’s plans have been impacted by a COVID-19 outbreak among their staff.
According to
Marca, a number of positive cases have been identified within the Andalusians, which have convinced the club to cancel their warm-up fixture at Villa Park. The Spanish club are yet to decide on an alternative friendly game.
Sevilla have already faced Las Palmas, Coventry City, AS Roma, and PSG in their current pre-season campaign. Julen Lopetegui’s side will start their new La Liga season with a match against
Rayo Vallecanoon August 15.
