Sky Sports: 'Liverpool will sell Shaqiri for £12.75m'

Xherdan Shaqiri, whose contract with the Reds expires in June 2022, has clearly stated that he wants to leave the club as he’s looking up to new challenges.

Napoli

and

Lazio

 have shown interest in signing

Liverpool’s

midfielder

Xherdan Shaqiri

, but they won’t be alone as there are already other clubs interested in signing the player. Villarreal and Sevilla have already been chasing the player, and the reports in Spain and England suggest that the Switzerland international’s future will be decided over the next few weeks.

According to

Sky Sports

, Liverpool have put a £12.75m price tag on Xherdan Shaqiri. The former Bayern Munich forward was signed from Stoke in 2018 for £13m as he went on to lift the Champions League and Premier League with the club.

The Swiss international told the Corriere dello Sport

that he has been “following Lazio for a long time, they are a top team. In general, due to my characteristics, I like to play more attacking football and Maurizio Sarri practices it. It would be intriguing.”

Shaqiri recently told his Liverpool website interview

: "I'm looking forward to the new season, and hopefully we're going to achieve what we want to achieve with this club," Shaqiri told Liverpool's club website.

"Our goal is always to win, to play for titles and to give 100 per cent on the pitch. Then we will see what happens. But, of course, we're going to try everything to win.

"Obviously we have a few players who were injured, they are back and they give us [an] extra boost for sure. The fans are going to be back again, I think, and that also gives us another boost to try to achieve our goals this season.

"We know how Anfield is when we have a game and how they push us through the game and how many times we won the games or we came back with the fans - something special. Of course, it's going to give us an extra boost."
