Donovan’s statue will be outside of their stadium

LA Galaxy confirms that Landon Donovan’s statue will be placed outside their stadium.

has announced that their legend,

Landon Donovan

, will be the second player to be immortalized outside the Dignity Health Sports Park, which is their home stadium.

Donovan is San Diego Loyal’s coach in the USL and will join David Beckham as LA Galaxy’s second legend to be immortalized. David Beckham, who is Inter Miami’s owner, has seen his statue outside the club’s home stadium since 2019. Donovan’s statue will be unveiled on October 3.

“Growing up, I never would have imagined being honored with a statue. It’s a very special feeling of which I’m incredibly proud,”

said Donovan

. “I spent some of the most formative years of my life with the Galaxy and the club’s fans are a part of my family. I’m proud to share a moment like this with them.”

The club’s president Chris Klein has also talked about the matter insisting on Donovan’s role in the club’s success and thanking him for his important role in their history.

Added Galaxy president Chris Klein:

“We look forward to honoring one of the most impactful players in LA Galaxy, Major League Soccer and U.S. Men’s National Team history. Landon helped our club claim four MLS Cup titles and set numerous records for both club and country. He has played a pivotal role in establishing the LA Galaxy as the league’s most iconic and successful club. We are excited to welcome him back home for this special occasion.”
