Rodrigo de Paul is looking forward to working with Atletico Madrid under one of the world's top managers.
After a €35 million transfer from
, the 27-year-old became one of Atleti's most high-profile acquisitions of the summer.
The Copa América champion joins Los Rojiblancos as they attempt to defend theirLa Liga
crown this term.
And, after returning to La Liga five years after departing Valencia, he has expressed his joy at working under
"It's incredible to have one of the best coaches in the world," de Paul said of Simeone at his unveiling. "It's incredible what he has done in his career.
"I'm going to learn a lot from him and he motivates me a lot.
"We see and feel football similarly. I believe in playing 100%, to compete for the team."
De Paul also discussed Atletico Madrid in general and how he has settled in since joining the club late owing to his great efforts with Argentina at theCopa América

After leaving Valencia, De Paul played five years with former club Udinese, where he found the net 33 times from midfield in 177Serie A
He has agreed to sign a five-year contract with Atletico, keeping him at the Spanish capital until 2026.
