Juventus trying to sign Mikkel Damsgaard

Juventus are in talks with Sampdoria over Mikkel Damsgaard, whose price tag might be too expensive for Bianconeri.

Juventus

have recently had a meeting with

Sampdoria

to talk about

Mikkel Damsgaard

, whose price tag skyrocketed during the Euro 2020. Reportedly, Juventus want to include

Federico Bernardeschi

in the deal. However, it seems Sampdoria prefer to monetize fully the departure of the 21-year-old and get their €35 million.

The other problem is Bernardeschi’s salary which seems Juventus need to contribute to, as his salary is way too expensive for Sampdoria. Bernardeschi has only one year left on his contract and would need an extension if they want him to stay.

Damsgaard made 37 appearances last season during which he was able to score 2 goals and provide 4 assists. He also performed impressively in the Euro as he was able to score two games. The Danish starlet was the first one to score to England and the Bianconeri have been tracking him since Fabio Paratici was in charge.

Sampdoria’s president also has said that he would prefer to keep Damsgaard another year to be able to cash in even more. His coach Roberto D’Aversa commented:

“Staying in Serie A would allow him to grow even more. The transfer market strategies are above my pay grade, but the chairman was clear, and he will not move for cheap.”

Damsgaard is also likely to move abroad. Liverpool, Everton, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, on top of Juventus and Milan, have shown interest in him.
