Atletico rejects Barcelona’s offer for Joao Felix

Atletico Madrid doesn’t want to involve Joao Felix in negotiations with Barcelona.

had requested

in Griezmann’s swap deal, but the reigning champions rejected the offer reportedly.

Barcelona has been negotiating with Atletico Madrid over a deal involving Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona and Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid as the Catalans keep trying to find ways to cut their expenses, to be able to sign a new deal with Lionel Messi and overcome the problems that have been caused by the pandemic.

Lionel Messi is reportedly willing to accept a 50% wage cut in a five-year deal that will expire when he becomes 39.

The club doesn’t have choices other than to sell France forward, but they had initially requested to bring Joao Felix to Camp Nou, which was rejected by Atletico Madrid, as they have placed Saul Niguez in their transfer list.

The 21-year-old has been unable to show his quality since his £113 m transfer to Atletico from Benfica two years ago; however, Diego Simeone’s side doesn’t seem to be giving up on their young talent, which is normal, considering the money they have paid.

The Portugal international has made 31 appearances for Simeone’s title-winning squad and has scored seven goals and assisted five, so Diego Simeone is thinking about keeping the player for the next season, despite all the criticism he is facing.
