who missed the Gold Cup has been diagnosed with ankle ligament damage and may miss the beginning of the season as he continues his treatment at Allianz Arena.

The Canadian star was named in Canada’s squad for Gold Cup, but he was injured in their opening match against Martinique on Sunday, and the Canadian camp released a statement saying that the 20-year-old had returned to his club to go through the treatments.

Then the club published another statement giving an update on the player’s situation on their

"Alphonso Davies faces a period on the sidelines at FC Bayern.

"The 20-year-old suffered an LCL tear to his left ankle in Canada’s build-up to the Gold Cup. Davies has now returned to Munich for rehab.

"The injury will be managed without invasive treatment."

Bayern Munich hasn’t confirmed a specific date for Davies’ return, but his absence period will take four to six weeks, and he may miss the beginning of the next season, although he doesn’t need surgery.

Bayern Munich is going to start the next season with Julian Nagelsmann, who is going to experience his first season as the Bundesliga Champions’ manager, and his first match will be a friendly game against Koln on July 17.
