Valencia keeping tabs on Atletico outcast Hector Herrera
The Mexican midfielder has been linked with a move away from Wanda Metropolitano ahead of the next season.

The Mexican midfielder featured in only 16 matches for Diego Simeone’s side last season as they managed to win the La Liga title for the first time in seven years. Herrera has less than a year on his current deal with Atletico, but he might leave the club before his contract expires.

Valencia
are eyeing a summer move for Herrera. Los Che’s newly appointed manager Jose Bordalas is keen to add an experienced midfielder to his squad. The former Getafe boss is keen to give Herrera a leading role at Mestalla Stadium as he believes the 31-year-old is able to carry out his tactical plans in midfield. Herrera is expected to be available for a fee of around €5m in the summer.
