Jordi Alba laments unlucky Spain after their 1-1 draw against Poland

Jordi Alba, who is now Spain’s interim captain, wants the squad to calm down after their 1-1 draw against Poland in Euro 2020 Group E.

Spain

struggled to reach top form in the battle against

Poland

, notwithstanding

Alvaro Morata

helping them take the lead with a goal in the first half.

However, Bayern Munich talisman

Robert Lewandowski

met the back of the net with a superb header and secured Poland’s one point.

Despite not winning a game in Euro 2020, Barcelona’s Jordi Alba thinks the team believes they are out of luck.

If we keep working like this, I am sure that the results will come in our favour”,

he said according to

Diario AS

.

“The rival was difficult and the game escaped us.

“We are missing something to win these games. But I think the team is working well and we have to keep believing until the end and win the next game because it will qualify us.

“We are used to pressure and we must continue to believe. I am convinced we are going to move forward to the next stage.”

Spain are in desperate need of a draw or victory when they lock horns with Slovakia in their last group game on June 23 to qualify for the next round.

Having gained only two points from their last two games, La Roja are sitting behind Sweden and Slovakia and they might need to win to seal a last 16 spot.
