Nuno Espirito Santo close to becoming the Everton manager

The ex-Wolves coach is on the verge of closing a deal with Everton and becoming their new manager.

Nuno Espirito Santo

and

Everton

are negotiating some issues, with the length of the deal being one of them, but they are hoping to appoint him within the next week.

Nuno, who departed Wolves when the 2020-21 campaign ended, was supposed to sign a deal with

Crystal Palace

but the two parties broke the negotiations down.

The 47-year-old attracted the attention of Everton, with Farhad Moshiri, the majority shareholder, interested in how Wolves developed during his tenure.

West Ham boss David Moyes was another manager Everton were eyeing, but he is going to sign a three-year contract as he delivered Europa League qualification when they finished the Premier League sitting sixth.

Christophe Galtier, who previously managed Lille, and former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez were among the other candidates for the Everton job.
