Sweden’s Kulusevski and Svanberg test positive for COVID-19

Juventus striker Dejan Kulusevski and Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg have tested positive for COVID-19 just six days before their Euro 2020 opener against Spain.

Juventus

star

Kulusevski

was the first to be forced into isolation after he told medical staff that he felt cold-like symptoms.

The Swedish FA confirmed the news in a statement that read:

"This morning, Dejan Kulusevski informed us in the medical team that he had cold symptoms.

"Dejan was quickly tested immediately and that test was positive. Dejan has since been kept isolated from the rest of the group and did not travel with us to Gothenburg,"

says national team doctor Anders Valentin

.

He is now in isolation in Stockholm while the rest of the team have traveled to Gothenburg and have all been tested to try and avoid an outbreak.

According to reports,

Svanberg

left training on Tuesday morning after a conversation with team doctor Valentin, after which he also tested positive for coronavirus.

He was then isolated from the rest of the squad and the test came back positive.

“Mattias will not train with the team and is now isolated at the hotel. The test will be analyzed again and supplementary testing will be performed,”

said doctor Anders Valentin

.

Sweden are in the same group as

Spain

– who also had a

COVID case for Sergio Busquets

Slovakia

and

Poland
