Leonardo keen to keep Pochettino at PSG despite Real Madrid rumors

Being linked heavily to Real Madrid’s dugout, earlier this week it was reported that Pochettino has informed PSG of his desire for an early departure from the club as he has left frustrated with the club’s management.

The Argentine replaced Thomas Tuchel as the Paris Saint-Germain in January, and although his contract runs until next year with the option of a further 12 months, he’s reportedly seeking a termination as he has emerged as the favorite to replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.

Former Inter boss, Antonio Conte, and the Los Blancos icon, Raul, have also been tipped for the job at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, Pochettino would reportedly stay at PSG for another season as he does not wish to sour his relationship with the club he served as a player in the past.

Speaking to

, Leonardo said: "Mauricio Pochettino has two years on his contract with PSG and we're very happy with him."

Finishing one point behind Lille in the Ligue 1 table, PSG were also beaten by Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals.

In addition to Real Madrid, the Argentine has been linked with a return to Tottenham Hotspur, the club he led to 2019’s Champions League final.
