Marcelo frustrated with Zidane’s decisions

The Brazilian has played a backup role to Ferland Mendy, and with the French left-back has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to injury, Marcelo appeared to be in line to start Real Madrid’s crucial match at Granada on Wednesday.

However, the 33-year-old Brazilian saw himself axed entirely from Madrid's traveling squad to the Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes.

According to

Goal

, Marcelo was left off the squad list for Thursday's match against Granada due to an argument with manager Zinedine Zidane, as he has been growing increasingly frustrated at the Frenchman's tactics and line-up decisions.

The outlet also reported that in addition to Marcelo, several other established Real Madrid players have also grown tired of the Frenchman's methods as Zidane is ready to walk away from the final year of his contract.

Currently third in the La Liga table, one point behind their arch-rivals Barcelona and five behind Atletico with one game in hand, the Los Blancos have the opportunity to reduce their distance to the top of the table to two points with a win over Granada on Wednesday.
