“We know how difficult the return leg will be” - Julen Lopetegui

This evening, Barca headed to the Andalusian capital to play against Sevilla in the first leg of the semi-final of the Copa del Rey at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

Both teams are still fighting for the European titles but out of La Liga, so the Copa is the best opportunity they have to win titles this season.

Julen Lopetegui‘

s players achieved a remarkable 2-0 winning and ruthlessly made sure that Barca returned to Catalonia empty-handed.

The game was breath-taking.

Sevilla

took the lead in the first half-hour by the French center-back. Jules Kounde passed Samuel Umtiti before scoring easily.

Sevilla

struggled harder in the final five minutes and the ex-Barcelona player, Ivan Rakitic scored the second goal.

Lopetegui

was pretty satisfied with his team’s performance:

“The team played a great game against a great rival who’s in a great moment.

“To compete with them you have to be at a high level and Sevilla have done it. They have had moments because they have a lot of quality but we were able to live with them. We still have the most difficult thing to do, however, which is to play in Barcelona. We know how difficult the return leg will be.”
