Lucas Leiva: "It’s exciting because Ancelotti's a winner"

Leiva says that Ancelotti can lead Brazil to become world champions for the sixth time.

Lucas Leiva, the former midfielder of

Liverpool

and Lazio, who played twenty-four games for the Brazilian national team between 2007 and 2013, believes that Carlo Ancelotti is an outstanding choice for the Brazilian national team.

Brazil last won the World Cup in 2002 and they are aiming for their sixth championship.

"It's the first time that a foreign manager takes over the national team. It’s exciting because he's a winner, he’s won everything, wherever he went he was successful." he said.

"We just hope that he can bring his experience and his qualities to the national team because we want to win the World Cup again."

Brazil was eliminated from the 2022 World Cup after losing to Croatia in a penalty shootout.
