Guardiola: "Inter absolutely deserved to be in the final"

Manchester City win the Champions League with a victory against Inter.

Manchester City

defeated Inter 1-0 in the final and became champions. Rodri scored the only goal of the game in the 68st minute, leading his team to victory.

Pep Guardiola, who had previously won this competition twice with Barcelona, won the Champions League trophy with Manchester City for the first time. After the game, Guardiola spoke to Sport Mediaset:

“Congratulations to Inter, what a great team,”

Guardiola said.

“I say that as the winner, I would’ve said if I had lost too. They absolutely deserved to be here and we knew it would be a very tough match. This competition, it’s like a coin toss, that’s how tight it is. We could easily have been held 1-1 and gone to extra time."

“It felt like this season it was in the stars, we had to win the Champions League for the first time in this club’s history.”

In the 2020/2021 season, Manchester City managed to reach the final of the Champions League, but they lost 1-0 to Chelsea in the game and finished as the runner-up. But Manchester City were finally able to win the Champions League after several attempts.
