"Karim was at his best level" - Ancelotti hails Benzema after his hat-trick against Real Valladolid
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti insists he is not worried about his future after a 6-0 win over Real Valladolid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid kept the gap to La Liga leaders Barcelona at 12 points after Sunday's 6-0 demolition of Real Valladolid.
Ancelotti has strongly linked with the Brazil job and even himself confirmed their interest on Saturday, but also insists that he likes to stay at Real Madrid.
After the game, Real Madrid legend Guti said Ancelotti’s comments on Saturday have left him anxious.
Speaking to Guti on DAZN, Ancelotti said:
"Do I look worried about my future, Guti? I love Madrid as much as you do.”
Karim Benzema scored a hat-trick on Sunday, and Ancelotti said the French striker was at his best against Real Valladolid.
“we started with a 4-4-2 with Rodrygo and Benzema up top, but the centre-backs were good in the press, so I saw the possibility of opening up Rodrygo and giving more freedom to Asensio. From then on things were easier.”
"[It was] key. At first, we suffered a bit, and they had chances. But as soon as we made it 1-0, everything was easier,"
"The transitions were spectacular and Karim was at his best level. Everything went well.”
Eden Hazard came on the pitch in the second half to make his fourth La Liga appearance of the season, but some fans whistled him.
"I heard [the whistles], yes,"
"Eden has trained well this break. He has played very little, but he has done well and has given an assist. He's training well, he can have opportunities."
