Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham to meet Man Utd in pre-season

Wrexham FC, which is owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, has announced that they will play a friendly match against Manchester United in San Diego later this year

Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who own Wrexham football club, have arranged for the team to play against

Manchester United

in a friendly match in San Diego on July 25.

The match will take place at the Snapdragon Stadium. Wrexham is currently playing in the National League and is aiming for promotion. They recently signed former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster.

Wrexham is currently three points ahead of Notts County in their league, and they were able to make it to the fourth round of the FA Cup before being eliminated by Sheffield United, who have since reached the semi-finals.

"We're looking forward to being able to play in the United States for the first time in the club's history,"

said Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson.

The last time

Wrexham

faced Manchester United was in an FA Cup match in 1995. For the upcoming friendly in San Diego, the majority of the Red Devils' team will be composed of academy players.
