Rashford out of the England squad with injury

Due to an illness, Marcus Rashford has been left out of England's lineup for the March international break

With 19 goals scored since the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in November and December, the

Man Utd

player has been in sensational form.

However, due to an injury sustained during Man Utd's FA Cup quarterfinal victory over Fulham on Sunday, the Three Lions will be without their most in-form player for their matches against Italy and Ukraine on March 23 and 27.

A club statement on the injury read:

"

Marcus Rashford

has been forced to withdraw from the England squad.

"The Manchester United forward sustained a knock during the 3-1 victory over Fulham in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford on Sunday.

"Our no.10 required treatment after being hurt in the build-up to Aleksandar Mitrovic's opener for the visitors and was later withdrawn in the 83rd minute, with Fred taking his place."

With his departure from the England team, Marcus Rashford has joined Nick Pope and Mason Mount in the injury list. Gareth Southgate has called up Fraser Forster to replace Pope, but he has no plans to bring in more players to replace Rashford or Mount.

For the upcoming friendlies, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, James Maddison, Bukayo Saka, and Ivan Toney are Southgate's forward possibilities.
