The first big chance of the match was for Inter in the 18th minute after Lukaku and Barella interchanged incredibly well inside the penalty area, but Szczesny saved Barella’s effort.

Filip Kostic scored for Juventus in the 23rd minute. The full-back received the ball from Adrien Rabiot before rifling it into the bottom right corner. VAR reviewed the goal for a suspected handball in the build-up, but eventually decided to give the goal to Juventus.

Inter came close to equalizing in the 48th minute, but Brozovic’s volley went over the bar.

A brawl involving players broke after the final whistle, and Danilo D’Ambrosio and Leandro Paredes were given straight red cards.

Juventus moved to seventh place in the table with 41 points, four points behind Atalanta. Max Allegri's side now has won six of their past seven Serie A matches.  Inter dropped to third place with 50 points, two points behind Lazio.

Inter now has won only two of their last 13 home league games against Juventus. The Nerazzurri are winless against Juventus in a home Serie A match since 2010.
