La Liga files a new complaint over Vinicius' racial abuse at Betis

After being the target of racial abuse for the seventh time this season against Real Betis, La Liga claims it has filed a complaint at a Seville court. The Brazilian winger suffered racist abuse against Atletico, Real Mallorca, and Real Valladolid before.

After Real Madrid's 0-0 draw with Real Betis, footage captured a Betico supporter shouting racial insults at Vinicius Junior, leading La Liga to take legal action again.

A statement from the league read: "In view of the racist insults directed towards Vinicius Junior during the Real Betis-Real Madrid match on Sunday, March 5, LaLiga has sent a complaint to the Seville Court of Instruction in order to identify the person responsible and to take the appropriate legal measures.

"This is the seventh complaint made to the relevant authorities by LaLiga regarding racist insults against Vinicius Junior."

The 21-year-old was shown in some video footage to be racially abused by some Mallorca fans in Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat at son Moix, which is not the first time this has happened to him this season. Vinicius was also racially abused in both of Madrid’s clashes against Atletico Madrid as well as their December clash against Real Valladolid, which led to some arrests and charges.

Carlo Ancelotti said last month: "Vinicius is the victim of something that I don't understand. It must be solved."
