"Pep is the best coach in history", says Newcastle star Guimaraes amid links with Man City
Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes has hailed Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola amid links to Premier League champions.

After the defeat to Man City on Saturday, Guimaraes and Pep Guardiola had an encounter, and the Brazilian later revealed that Guardiola had praised him.
He told ESPN Brasil:
"Pep said I was ‘bueno’, good! We have a good relationship, we have already talked a few times. For me, Pep’s a genius, the best coach in history.”
The 25-year-old Guimaraes joined Newcastle in January 2022 in a deal worth £40m. His current contract runs until June 2026.
The Brazilian midfielder has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 42 matches for Newcastle, and his impressive performances in the Premier League have attracted the interest of big European clubs.
Mundo Deportivo newspaper recently reported that Real Madrid is considering making a move for Guimaraes in the summer if they fail to sign Jude Bellingham. Manchester City also reportedly wants to strengthen their midfield, and Guimaraes is one of the players that are on Guardiola’s radar.
Newcastle is in sixth place in the table with 41 points after 24 matches. Eddie Howe’s side is 4 points behind the fourth-placed team, Tottenham, but they have two games in hand. Newcastle will face Wolves in the Premier League on March 12.
