Mohamed Elneny signs new contract extension with Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has signed a new contract with the Premier League club.

Arsenal

confirmed on Tuesday that

Mohamed Elneny

has extended his contract until June 2024. Elneny’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the season.

The Egypt international joined Arsenal from

Basel

in 2016 and is the longest-serving player in Arteta's squad.

"I'm so happy, I love this club and our supporters so much and I'll give everything to help us be the best we can be, every day I'm here,"

Elneny told the club's website.

"It makes me so proud to have represented this amazing club since 2016.

"The spirit and togetherness we have in our squad right now is so positive, and I'm so happy I have extended my contract.”

The 30-year-old player has played in 155 matches for Arsenal in all competitions. He has scored six goals and provided 10 assists during his seven years with Arsenal. The defensive midfielder has also scored 8 goals in 93 matches for Egypt.

Elneny suffered a knee injury in January and will be out of action until the end of the season.
